Background and Qualifications

Rebecca Burns is an educational consultant, formerly a teacher, curriculum administrator, and educational research and development specialist. She provides professional development and coaching on curriculum alignment, standards-based curriculum design, interdisciplinary teaming and instruction, project-based learning, building professional learning communities, responsive schooling and teaching practices, and other topics related to instructional improvement. She is equally comfortable working with teachers and administrators, and her approach to working with a district or school is always collaborative.

Rebecca has designed and conducted graduate courses, institutes, and workshops for educators across the United States and in Puerto Rico. Her conference presentations include Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Association for Integrative Studies, National Middle School Association, American Association of School Administrators, and American Educational Research Association.

Her training, expertise, and experience include K-12 education through graduate levels in the areas of curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, and the humanities. She is author of four books for educators--one that was translated and published in Korea and another that was translated and published in mainland China--and a contributing author for two other volumes.
